Upon returning from college for summer break, I decided that it was high time to return to the online consignment business. I have received many phone and email inquiries regarding my services, and it’s a great way to make some extra money.
I have retooled the INK! logo, and have been listing new inventory while updating existing merchant accounts (e.g. changed the About Me eBay page, etc.)
I have no doubt that the summer will be very profitable and successful for INK!, which benefits OSS as a whole. With this additional revenue, OSS can continue to fund development of Epic Notes, which is slated for an August release. I am very excited to be making good progress on the project, and cannot wait to show the world what Epic Notes has to offer.
In the mean time, if you happen to live in west KY/TN, why don’t you give INK! a try?

I am going to re-tool some of the OSS branding with some new squid-like graphics. I am particularly referring to the header above, which has faithfully served for over two years without an update!
Here’s what I have so far:

I attended a start-up weekend in Lexington, Kentucky back in November, which was graciously hosted by a local technology business incubator, Awesome Inc. What came from that 72 hours of brainstorming and formulation was Epic Notes, an online lecture note marketplace for college students across the country.
While the site is not quite ready for the public, the idea has received a lot of positive feedback. I sincerely hope that this can be a useful and fun service to students every where – it pays to take good notes! Literally! =)
Spread the word and follow Epic Notes on facebook and twitter to receive the latest updates, including launch information!

OSS is currently the main developer of a new and exciting web venture that is currently top secret. There is huge potential for this enterprise and it is currently near a private beta release. A full release and press release are expected sometime in January.
Stay tuned!

I recently applied for the NFIB Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship and had to write an 800-1,000 word essay regarding several aspects of Omega Squid Studios.
I am sure there would be some interest in seeing it, as it does do a pretty good job of explaining just what OSS is all about. Hit the link below for the PDF file.

This is a bit late now, but it’s time for the annual State of the Squid address/announcement.
Another fantastic year has passed, the 6th so far for Omega Squid Studios. Continuing to build on past success, I hope to create and share even more with the world as 2010 unfolds.
Notable events from 2009:
- Urban Nights is filmed, one of three segments is completed (~40 minute segment, Late Night Stranger)
- Game development is rebooted with the Glacial Grab alpha release
- Several new videos, including the Iced Avenger 2: Christmas in July, the Escape from Fulton digital trailer
- Massive expansion of network sites, notably SquidFlicks
- Redesign of OSS website
- Completion of several interview DVDs for the state of Kentucky’s historical archives
- A new computer system to increase video editing and rendering speed
- INK! Selling Solutions increases eBay consignment customer base
Those of just some of the literally hundreds of events that happened across the network this past year. What’s more exciting than the past, however, is the future events in the OSS network coming in 2010!
What to look forward to in 2010:
- New episodes of SquidFlicks Reel Talk
- Completion of Glacial Grab
- BlackBerry Application development
- Redesigned websites for INK! Selling Solutions and King Kraken
- Monthly video blog (at least once a month, variable)
- Increased Facebook presence
- New staff
- IndepenDEX launch
2010 will be a momentous year for OSS and myself, mainly because I will be graduating from high school and attending college in the fall. The amount of time and resources that I have been spending to develop content on network sites will most likely decrease during this summer and fall. I will continue to work in whatever spare time I get, and I will always keep the OSS news blog and my personal blogs updated.
I am going to halt some growth of new ventures, or ‘tentacles’ of OSS, and recommit myself to improving already existing sites and services. However, if something strikes me as timely or very worthy of committing to, there will be an announcement here. Progress on other projects will also be posted here.
Thank you for tour continued support of Omega Squid Studios. Word-of-mouth advertising still ranks as the #1 reason clients choose OSS for their web design, graphic, video, tech support, and eBay consignment needs.
Here’s to 2010!

The new holiday-themed game, Glacial Grab, has been released to the public as a work-in-progress game. I was not able to complete the game in time for the holidays, but I hope that a playable version is satisfactory enough for now. I plan to finish up the game by the end of January, pending any unexpected delays.
Don’t wait anymore! Play Glacial Grab today!
Merry Squidmas from Omega Squid Studios!
Story:
Gary is a young man with a BIG problem this holiday season – he’s waited too long to buy presents, and now it’s Christmas Eve! He manages to scrape up everyone’s gifts on the wishlist, but he’s running late!
Gary decides to take a shortcut across a frozen pond, but he slips and all the gifts go flying! To make things worse, the bullies from across town start throwing rocks, snowballs, and boots!

It has been quite some time since there was an official post from SQUIDWORD! I apologize for the delay.
Network Status
The Omega Squid Network is faring quite well. New websites have been developed or redesigned in the past few months, and others, SquidFlicks in particular, continue strong growth.
News
It is with great pleasure that I announce the immense success of OSS’s social networking campaign. Both the OSS and SquidFlicks Facebook pages have amassed enough fans to earn usernames, which makes giving out a URL for the pages much easier.
If you are not already a fan, please become one today! Becoming a fan of OSS on facebook ensures timely updates and exclusive events that often don’t last long enough to make it to a regular blog posting. It’s also very fun!

Upcoming events
There are several video projects underway at SquidFlicks. One in particular is Halloween: Season of the Bitch. It is a short film that is currently in production and is set for a Halloween premiere.
That’s all for now! Remember: The Future is Squid!
