Red Ribbon Week 2008 PSA Completed
The PSA that Omega Squid Studios owner Shelby Jones and director Patrick Farmer filmed just over two weeks ago has been completed, and is availiable for all to view.
The PSA has been a remarkable success, generating lots of positive feedback from the demographic (4th through 6th grade) as well as adults and other film makers.

Please Vote in Election 2008
Omega Squid Studios would like to request that all who can vote do so in today’s national election. Voting is a right, and many people in the US do not even treat this right like it is worth anything. Having a say in government is instrumental to democracy, and when you take that away, there are no rights.
It doesn’t take very much of your time - please vote!
King Kraken website back online
After several weeks of nothing but a landing page, the King Kraken website is back online. The site is still under construction, but you can see the beginnings of newer and more professional site than what the previous version was.
King Kraken is the web design company that Omega Squid Studios manages. It is owned and operated by Shelby Jones.
The new King Kraken web site will offer:
- Web Design services (on the services page)
- Free resources like scripts, tutorials, and templates
- Portfolio of completed client sites
- Contact page that has a quote form
A new announcement on OSS will be made once the site is completed and ready for the public.

New OSS project: PSAs for Fulton Independent
Shelby Jones and Patrick Farmer of Omega Squid Studios have been selected to write and film a series of 5 PSAs for the local School System’s Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is a week dedicated to spreading awareness of the dangers of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drugs to younger children. Activities are held during the day throughout the week, and one of those will be the presentation of these PSAs to the children.
The 5 PSAs will be about 30 seconds in length each. The scripts are being written and filming will commence within the next week for the production.
The PSAs will be published on the site once they are created, and will be located in the Videos section of the Content page.
Shelby Patrick Jones receives update
Personal site of OSS owner, Shelby Jones, has recently come out of a new design. The site has been revamped and Shelby plans to add more frequent updates about his life, the internet, and all things related to his companies, mainly Omega Squid Studios.

SquidFlicks Movie Marathon 1 - Nightmare on Elm Street Series
After weeks of delay and problems, the very first episode of the SquidFlicks Movie Marathon series is complete and open for comments and viewing.
Press Release:
A new online video series that features popular movie series being reviewed in a group setting has debuted from SquidFlicks, a small movie review web site. The video series has long been in the works and has finally been published after weeks of promotion and work.
The first episode features the popular horror series A Nightmare on Elm Street, and features commentary from the group of five reviewers on all eight of the series’ titles.

Official Urban Nights WIP Page
The new Urban Nights production page has been added to the video WIPs page. It features a description of the film and the cast list at this time. When the film is completed, the page will be moved to the Completed Movies section of the site and feature:
- Viewing of the film
- Rating of the film
- Comments of the film
- Contacting the cast
- Pictures of the cast and production
- Making of/Behind the scenes videos
- Extra features and downloads
This is the format that all major OSS/HHP productions will assume once they are completed.

It is worth mentioning that under the Video WIPs page you can find a new production that looks to be very fun to make and share with everyone. Once more information is compiled and the project’s page in completed I will post a overview here and on SquidFlicks.

New work on current projects
For the past few weeks, I have been working on various aspects of the many websites in the Omega Squid family, mostly between SquidFlicks and BlogSuey.
Although BlogSuey has once again entered its beta testing session, It is only because I have not yet completed the total site, and it will not go public until I deem it suitable for release. There will be OSS staff testing out the system, which is powered by WordPress MU.
As for SquidFlicks and our movie productions in general, things are looking great! A new posting schedule will soon be in place for SquidFlicks to better streamline our content and provide reviews in a timely fashion. Urban Nights, our current film project created by Horrorhut Productions, is to enter the first stages of filming very soon. A special mini-site for the production will be coming out soon so you can find out more and meet the actors in the production.
