The new holiday-themed game, Glacial Grab, has been released to the public as a work-in-progress game. I was not able to complete the game in time for the holidays, but I hope that a playable version is satisfactory enough for now. I plan to finish up the game by the end of January, pending any unexpected delays.
Don’t wait anymore! Play Glacial Grab today!
Merry Squidmas from Omega Squid Studios!

It has been quite some time since there was an official post from SQUIDWORD! I apologize for the delay.
Network Status
The Omega Squid Network is faring quite well. New websites have been developed or redesigned in the past few months, and others, SquidFlicks in particular, continue strong growth.
News
It is with great pleasure that I announce the immense success of OSS’s social networking campaign. Both the OSS and SquidFlicks Facebook pages have amassed enough fans to earn usernames, which makes giving out a URL for the pages much easier.
If you are not already a fan, please become one today! Becoming a fan of OSS on facebook ensures timely updates and exclusive events that often don’t last long enough to make it to a regular blog posting. It’s also very fun!

Upcoming events
There are several video projects underway at SquidFlicks. One in particular is Halloween: Season of the Bitch. It is a short film that is currently in production and is set for a Halloween premiere.
That’s all for now! Remember: The Future is Squid!

I have returned from my five week stay in the Governor’s Scholar Program and have resumed my normal duties as owner and operator of Omega Squid Studios. It’s been a pretty quiet summer so far.
Also worth mentioning is the rebirth of my personal blog, shelbypatrickjones.com. I accidently broke the site a few days before leaving for GSP, and did not have the time to repair it before I left. Nevertheless, it’s back in action!
Keep the future squid!

If you have visited any OSS network sites over the past 3-4 days, you may have experienced errors or slow load times. These phenomena should not occur any more.
There were some server problems with our hosting provider, but those issues have been worked out and I hope that everything will be 100% from now on. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during the outage.

After almost 4 years of no change, the Omega Squid Studios logo has received a much-needed refreshing. The design just came to me one night, and knowing that I could easily forget my inspiration, I opened up Adobe Illustrator and got to work.
Within 20 minutes I had a black and white rendering, and by the next day the coloring was complete! I can’t wait to make some OSS merch with this logo on it!
What do you think? This is the first in a wide refresh of logos across the Omega Squid Network. SquidFlicks will see a logo refresh, but it will be very similar to what it looks like currently.

I know it has been quite some time since there was an update from Omega Squid Studios, but let me assure you that things have not slowed down one bit – in fact, things have been so hectic here that there has been little to no time to update the site!
We recently completed filming of Urban Nights segment Late Night Stranger, and I have been working on a new SquidFlicks website. I plan to shut down the site for service sometime in the following weeks so that the new updates and design can be tested and launched. I don’t expect the site to be down for more than 2-3 days.
There is also a new game from OSS in the works! This will be the first since 2007! It is a spanish quiz game that is being developed for a spanish competition at school, and more information will be given as it nears completion. Right now it is still in early beta stages, and not ready for release.
That’s all for now – be sure to keep checking back for more Omega Squid Studios information as it arrives!

Well, it’s that time of year again, and the Omega Squid Network has some great videos to share with you this holiday season! Be sure and check out SquidFlicks today and tomorrow for two AWESOME holiday specials!
Today’s video was the premiere episode of SquidFlicks Reel Talk, which featured the Independent film Yule Die and an interview with director Seth Middleton and actor Derek Bradley. See it here!
Tomorrow’s video is the premiere installment of SquidFlicks Creature Features/Digital Shorts. It is based on a killer snowman who wreaks havoc on the SquidFlicks HQ. An epic battle decides the fate of both myself and co-host Patrick Farmer! You’ll have to watch to find out what happens!
Check it out tomorrow!
You can catch it only on SquidFlicks (but it will also be duplicated on osquid.com!)

As a Christmas special and premiere episode for the new series, SquidFlicks Reel Talk, we interview and talk about an Independent Christmas Horror film, Yule Die, with director Seth Middleton and actor Derek Bradley. With some extra antics mixed in, this is a great way to end 2008 and start another great SquidFlicks adventure!
The film can be purchased via this site: http://www.indieflix.com/Films/YULEDIE

This was a great opportunity to learn more about film creation from a fellow independent director, and I am glad that they accepted our offer to be interviewed for the premiere episode of Reel Talk!
If you haven’t seen the movie, I strongly recommend that you do!

Patrick Farmer’s Urban Nights
Fulton, KY (osquid.com); December 15, 2008 – Publisher of online media and interactive content, Omega Squid Studios (OSS), has formally announced the commencement of work on Urban Nights, a film written and directed by Patrick Farmer of Horrorhut Productions.
“This is going to be a ground-breaking new project for both the company [Omega Squid Studios] and the members of the viewing audience.”
- Shelby Jones, owner of Omega Squid Studios
Urban Nights is an anthology-one film comprised of three smaller features-much like The Twilight Zone or Tales from the Crypt. The stories are set in an ‘urban’ environment.
The production is utilizing local talent and resources in several areas. From the actors to the locations, the film is a collective community effort, and all assistance is appreciated.
"It is going to be a great film; I’m proud of the script. The three stories are, to me, very original and entertaining; You get different feelings throughout, whether it’s a comedic or more of a serious tone, and they do deliver. I am thankful for everyone involved who have put so much into the project, and believing in it as much as I do; without them, this film could never become a reality."
- Patrick Farmer, director of Urban Nights
Producer Shelby Jones of Omega Squid Studios is currently looking for those who wish to contribute funds to help cover the cost of the production. It is estimated that another $500 will need to be raised so that necessary equipment and other supplies can be purchased. Sponsors will receive mention in the film’s credits. Please contact OSS for more information.
Urban Nights has its own website, which is currently under construction. OSS plans to have trailers of the film and cast bios up as soon as possible. You can visit the site at www.urbannightsfilm.com. Please direct inquiries to contact@osquid.com.
